COCANA stands for "Centre for Optimization, Convex Analysis and Nonsmooth Analysis." Researchers at UBC Okanagan with interest and expertise in these areas include: Heinz Bauschke, Julian Cheng, Warren Hare, Patricia Lasserre, Jason Loeppky, Yves Lucet, Kian Mehravaran, Solomon Tesfamariam, and Shawn Wang.

We currently have several Graduate Students in Optimization: Shahadat Hossain, Khan Jakee, Sarah Moffat, Sukanto Mondal, Jim Nastos, and Muhammad Razib. Recent graduates include Valentin Koch, Jason Schaad, Mike Trienis, Md Faisal Rahman, and Liangjin Yao.
